1. What kitproof is

kitproof ("we") publishes information about developer starter kits, based on public data such as source repositories, package registries, and vendors' own web pages. By using kitproof.dev you agree to these terms.

2. Information, not advice

Our verdicts, rankings, and evidence describe what public data showed on the date shown. They are not a guarantee of any kit's quality, security, fitness for a purpose, or future maintenance. Check a kit yourself before you rely on it. Vendor pages are shown as the vendor's claims. We are not responsible for purchases you make from third parties.

3. Our one rule

Money can never change a verdict. Payments to us never change a kit's verdict, rank, reasons, or warnings. See how we make money.

4. Paid services

• Verification review (one-time $99): we check a kit's code or changelog you give us access to and publish the resulting evidence. You pay for the checking work, not for any particular outcome.
• Sponsored placement ($79/month): a labeled "Sponsored" slot on a category page for the paid period. We may decline or remove a placement for kits that are archived, misleading, or unsafe, with a prorated refund.

Payments are processed by our merchant of record (Lemon Squeezy), whose terms also apply to checkout, taxes, and receipts. Refunds follow our refund policy.

5. Corrections and removals

Kit makers can ask us to correct factual errors, and we will fix what's wrong. We don't remove accurate evidence on request or for payment. To report a problem, contact us at hello@kitproof.dev.

6. Data and API

Our public data (/api/, RSS, llms.txt) is free to use with attribution and a link to each kit's evidence page. Don't use it to misrepresent a kit or kitproof. Automated access should be reasonable in volume.

7. Trademarks

Kit names and logos belong to their owners. kitproof is independent and not affiliated with GitHub or any kit vendor.

8. Liability

kitproof is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any paid service is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the previous 12 months.

9. Changes

We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. Continued use means you accept the updated terms.
